Experimental Investigation and Performance Characteristics of Francis Turbine with Different Guide Vane Openings in Hydro Distributed Generation Power Plants

This article presents a study on the performance characteristics of Francis turbine operating with various guide vane openings to determine best point based unit quantities. The were specified width between vanes at their exit, i.e., 10 mm, 13 16 and 19 mm. characteristic curves turbine—head versus speed, torque discharge efficiency speed—were obtained input power openings. From these data, plotted corresponding points obtained. highest 50.25% was opening values head, discharge, output BEP 7.84 m, 13.55 lps, 1250 rpm, 524 W, respectively.
